Self-paced training through LinkedIn Learning
LinkedIn Learning courses are free for Virginia Tech students and employees. The following are some good options for all levels to help you gain skills and confidence to stay safer online.

Training for employees through PageUp Talent Development
Annual cybersecurity training is required for Virginia Tech employees.
- IT Security Awareness Training - New Employees. This roughly 90-minute course is required for all new employees within 30 days of beginning employment.
- Annual Renewal - IT Security Awareness Training. This 20-25 minute refresher course is required annually, once an employee has completed the new employee training.

Virginia Tech departments can request awareness training from the IT Security Office for their employees through the IT Service Catalog. Options include:
- General awareness training: topics include cybersecurity and techniques used to compromise IT systems
- Interactive phishing awareness: improve security skills with a live, safe, real-world educational phishing
- Securing the Human Online: training on computer security and phishing awareness
